Hello everyone,

I purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6.0 and installed it on my Windows 10 PC.

When starting it up it freezes on the splash page and I can't do anything.

I've tried re-installing, restarting the PC, changing installing location,... without any success

My graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000 and the driver is up to date.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks!!

Hi,

Adobe went in remote connection in my PC and they made it work! They installed updates and renamed certain folders/files.

It works!

Thank you for your help

First, update to 6.8. Download from here: Install Photoshop Lightroom

If you still face the same issues, deactivate the GPU acceleration: Adobe Lightroom GPU Troubleshooting and FAQ

Thanks for your answer!

Unfortunately, I also tried installing the newest version without success.

I can't deactivate the GPU accerleration because I can't access the settings.

I also tried this:

Manually disable the graphics processor

If you can't launch Lightroom, or Lightroom crashes before you can clear the Use Graphics Processor check box, here's how to manually disable this preference:

  1. Navigate to %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs.
  2. Open the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs in TextEdit.
  3. Change the line useAutoBahn = true to this line: useAutoBahn = false
  4. Save and close the file Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs.
  5. Launch Lightroom again.

I opened the agprefs file in Notepad and Wordpad but it is empty.

I hope you can help me further.

You probably opened the wrong file from the wrong path like: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\Resources\Installer\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs

Look at this location: %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\

i.e.: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 6 Preferences.agprefs

Thank you!

Sadly the Preferences folder in %appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\ is empty. I enabled "show hidden files and folders" in control panel, no positive result

I'd say this means your installation is corrupt.

Remove LR, reboot and reinstall again.
