The software has been running fine for years. At the prompt of Lightroom I attempted to perform a backup, i don't think the backup ever finished and now suffers a critical error and displays an error "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working" and does not go any further.
I have tried to repair the software, no change. i have tried to remove and reinstall, no change.
I've made several attempts at reinstalling software with rebooting after each attempt. Deleting residual directories and running a registry scan and repair have not changed anything. Each time I restart the program after a fresh install the same error appears immediately as it tries to open a catalog.
