Issues with cancelling Creative Cloud

Originally I purchased the cheapest Creative Cloud plan so that I could use Photoshop and Lightroom for assignments at school. However, I have since changed my major to computer science and no longer have a need for the software. I tried to cancel my plan back in November, and was told I had to pay a cancellation fee. The fee was more than I could afford at the time, so I backed out of the cancellation process. Upon backing out, a message came up saying that if I continued to pay and use the software for 2 more months, then I would not have to pay the cancellation fee. I figured if I just pay the $10.61 for two more months, it's way better than paying the 50 something to cancel immediately. 1 month has passed, and I noticed that I wasn't being billed at all. I checked my account and email to find out that Adobe gave me 2 complimentary months of service, which is NOT what I had asked for. Now my account says that I'm going to be billed in January for the service once again, when it was supposed to automatically cancel after the month of December. I wish I had taken a screenshot of the "pay 2 months and then cancel" offer because it seems to have completely disappeared from their website. It no longer pops up when I back out of cancelling my service. I'm absolutely livid and I'm just about ready to tell everyone I know to stay clear of Adobe's subscription plans. I don't want my fellow students getting roped into some poorly explained contract that they can't afford.
