Does cc 2017 start or crash? If it crashes post the crash report.

In MS Windows, if you right click with your mouse on any file you can sometimes get a Open With option allowing

you to select the program you want to open your file with. For example, I can right click on an .html and open it with

Google or Internet Explorer... etc.

When I right click on .jpg or .pdf I get several options but not my newly installed Photoshop CC2017. This is the problem.

My PS 2017 loads and starts without problems so far.

I investigated this problem straight away after installing my PS last night and it seems people had this problem a few years ago.

See:

Photoshop CC 2015: Cannot set Photoshop as default program in "open with" | Photoshop Family Custome...

(I am not sure if this link comes up, but this is very similar to my problem)

I tried the solution proposed by Jeffrey Tranberry, substituting 2015 for 2017 but this did not have any effect on my problem.

All I can think of doing is installing an earlier copy of PS or get a IT technician here to look into it in person.
