I'm doing a render at 1080p and 4k
I started with the 1080p and est. time is 55min
i'm running mac osx, 16gb ram / 12 dedicated to AE, gtx 970, intel i7 overclocked at 3,85ghz ( raid ssd 1gb read and write ).

Based on the information at hand (not much, BTW), the render time sounds about right to me.

Render time is determined first by the project frame size and complexity. The second factor is system speed. The third factor, which can have a huge effect on render times is the format (codec) you choose for output. I routinely have projects that take 4 or 5 minutes per frame to render. My design limit is about 7 minutes a frame, but on the other hand I have several projects that render at the rate of 5 or 6 frames per second. It all depends on what I'm doing. Without complete system, workflow, os and software details down to the last decimal point we can't know if there is something wrong with the way you have configured the project, chosen the output format, or fouled up your system configuration.
