On opening IND CC 2017 this morning, I have noticed a blue Open Type symbol has started to appear at the bottom of the text boxes in my InDesign files.
How do I stop this, as not sure why I need it to appear

It's explained in this article on InDesign CC 2017:
What’s New with InDesign CC 2017
Short answer: InDesign Preferences > Advanced Type > uncheck "Show Adornment on Text Selection/Text Frame...."

Hello Adobe,
i recently lost my prefs, and I had to regoogle this. Because here im also controlling other stuff which show symbols and features around my image- and text-frames, I would suggest to put this preference here:

If you want to make a feature request do so here: Adobe InDesign Feedback

In feature-request users dont tend to read up on all the ideas to promote, so a neccessary (not this one) demand may gets left behind unvoted, not reflecting the urge tho its the only option to even get heared by Adobe – meh, im dissappointed in the outcome of the site.

Thanks. Also driving me crazy. Adobe needs to stop changing the UI every update.
