Find & Replace broken?

Hi All,

I'm on Dreamweaver 2017. I've just tried it in 'Current Documents' and 'Entire Site' and sometimes it doesn't change anything, even though DW says it has.

After I run it, the window at the bottom pops up to show all the files that have been changed. But when I look at the open files themselves, they haven't changed at all. And when I've also run it on files that are closed—it still doesn't work.

Am I missing something?

Thanks,

John

If it's hit & miss, maybe there's something about your code that's causing DW to choke.

The latest versions of DW do not like code errors.

Below is an open document with code error denoted by the red X in a circle.  Check Output Panel for details.

Alternatively, run your code through W3C Validation.

Find & Replace works fine for me.

CC 2017.1

Win 10, 64-bit.

Working in a defined local site folder.

I just did a search for "2016" in Current Site

Replace with "2017"

No filters, No exceptions.

Hit Replace All button.

23 replacements made in 23 documents.

Everything's good.

Very strange, Nancy. I'm on an iMac.

Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I've been doing this in DW for about 15 years and never had this problem before.

Thanks for the reply though
