I find that my duplicate button is greyed out under edit and when i right click  text  on the timeline the edit button is greyed out. I am using premiere elements 14. Why are they greyed out?

I do not want to copy and paste as I find that if I change either the copy or the original tjen the the other one also changes

Hi,

There are two different Edit options in Premiere Elements

1. Edit menu - Duplicate

This option is to duplicate clip in Project Asset panel - Import a file and Select the file in Project asset view. Go to Edit menu - duplicate

It will create a copy of the clip

2. Edit option in right click menu on clip in timeline

This option will be enabled for motion title - Add a motion title and right click on motion title in timeline

     Edit option will be enabled.

Thanks,

Pankaj Gauba
