Considering the same processing values and output settings of a single raw file in LR and in Camera Raw in PS. I use Canon.
Is there any difference in the final structure of the processed raw file that is exported/saved as a jpeg file, with a compression of 8?
The media outlet I work for is now requesting only PS processed jpeg files. They have had numerous problems with other jpeg generated files.
Since this request of submitting PS jpegs only creates a significant change in my workflow I'm researching this topic further to work around the issue.
I need to know if these Adobe products (PS and LR) really create different processed jpeg files.
Please reply if you have real in-depth knowledge.
They use the same engine, and should be the same. Did you ask them if they problems with LR jpgs specifically? You can do batch processing in Bridge to save your jpgs. Bridge will read your changes you've made in LR.
Thanks for the reply.
I haven't asked for the specifics and I suspect that LR got thrown into the batch of disqualified jpeg creators by association. Hence my research.
Processing large number of images, coming out of Photo Mechanic, is a workflow were every minute counts. LR has been more functional to me than CR in PS.
I'm trying to avoid the extra step in Bridge but it is a good tip to know too.
