Hi there,
I'm working in online marketing and we're having an issue with our adverts not correctly loading into webpages occasionally. The issue looks like the below, it loads the green background but fails to load any of the animation or any other part.
We've previously noticed this happening on a number of sites, we contacted the company that serves our adverts Turn, they said that they thought the issue was due to the fact that multiple adverts were loading on the page and some were also done in Adobe Animate and both ours and theirs were using the auto generated tag "canvas" and so it was failing to load. We since manually replaced all our "canvas" tags with "canvas_evanscycles" but we've still found this issue occurring elsewhere. We then did some more research, found that other people have had similar issues as in the links below. However for all of these people they were the ones creating the webpage rather than just displaying an advert on somebody else's page. They also recommend changing the tag "lib" to something unique also which we haven't yet attempted.

So the first question I have is whether anyone knows of similar issues? If so does anyone know of any fixes other than what we have attempted?
The second part is that if the only fix is to manually change the "canvas" and "lib" tags then would every advert we serve need to have a unique tag? For example if we are serving an advert that is 160x600 and one that is 728x90 on the same page, if we change the 160x600 "canvas" to be "canvasABC" do we need to change the 728x90 "canvas" to be "canvas123"?
It's a fairly confusing question so I hope I made it clear, any questions please ask and I'll elaborate further.
Thanks,
Tom.
Well the error is coming from this:
There's no reason to have that <img src= there, and the script tag within the script tag doesn't look right either. Do you need that stuff for esearchvision? If so, you might want to check with them about how that tracking script needs to be set up, because it doesn't seem to be properly implemented.
Also, you've somehow managed to both publish your JS file and include the JS within the HTML, and you only need to do one or the other. Right now your JS files a

HTML5 banner are typically served within iframes, so it shouldn't matter if other banners loaded into other iframes have tags with the same IDs.
Are you using an Ad Blocker?
Could you maybe share a link to a live page with this issue?

Hi Emma,
Thanks for the response, I'm not using an adblocker and neither are the others who have seen this issue. We're using Google Chrome and here is a site that's had the issue: Cycling Weekly: Cycling News, Bike Reviews, Sportives & Forums You may need to refresh the site a few times to get served an ad from Evans.
I've emptied my cache to test to see if that was the issue but it didn't resolve it either. Here is a screenshot I took just now after having emptied my cache and deleted browsing history
Thanks for the help, it's very much appreciated.
Tom.

I'm not seeing it no matter how many times I refresh; it might only be targeted to people in certain regions.
Can you have the ad serving company set up a test page?

Hi Emma,
Sorry I should've realised that, we're a UK based company so are targeting people in the UK so you wouldn't get served the ad. I'll talk to the company now and see if they can set something up for us.

What version of Animate? Did you use the spritesheet option? Is your stage color (i.e. the background color of your canvas element, that color?) Or are you using a publish template created for a previous version of Animate.
What vendor is serving the ads?

Hi there,
What version of Animate? 16.0.0.112 2017 build
Did you use the spritesheet option? Yes we use sprite sheet.
Is your stage color (i.e. the background color of your canvas element, that color?) Or are you using a publish template created for a previous version of Animate.
The stage colour is the dark green Evans Cycles colour – the one the display keeps getting stuck on.

Try turning off sprite sheets, re-publishing, re-trafficking, and see if that makes a difference.
Also, check if there are any errors in the JavaScript console when you view your banners in a browser.

Hi Emma,
We'll test the turning off sprite sheets and see what happens.
For now here are the errors that appear in the JavaScript console:

What errors (if any) do you see when you view only your banners in their own HTML page? Can you provide a direct link?

Hi Emma,
This is the error I see in the HTML only page:
When I click it, it takes me to this line:
I couldn't work out a way to link you the HTML page directly (as you can see the URL is the file location) so I uploaded a set of creatives to Dropbox which you can download here:
Hopefully this gives some more insight,
Thanks for the help!

Also, you've somehow managed to both publish your JS file and include the JS within the HTML, and you only need to do one or the other. Right now your JS files are completely unused and just wasting extra file size. Personally, I would republish the HTML without the JS embedded and keep separate JS files to keep things cleaner. I don't think that has anything to do with your loading issue but it is something that would be best to fix.
You can do that in Publish Settings.

Hi Emma,
Thanks for this, once you mentioned the errors in the console I also realised that the issue was around the esearchvision tagging. I've tested removing the <img src= and that hasn't resolved the issue. I'm now currently testing removing the tag entirely and hopefully that will fix the issue.
We'll also not embed the JS file from now on to make things cleaner.
You've been a great help thank you.

Hey, I was finally able to get your ads to load on bikeradar.com, and they work fine on my end (on a Mac using Chrome). Screenshot below.
What browser/operating system are you experiencing issues in?

Hi Emma,
We've found that some times they load but we've still had issues on multiple computers on multiple networks. All have been using Windows and Google Chrome though.
