Indesign cc 2017 - how to open in 2015?

When we try to use the CC converter to change an InDesign cc 2017 file to cc 2015

we sign in to creative cloud and then it starts the convert.

It then says

The IDML File Conversion Service is temporarily unavailable.  Try again later.

It comes up with this all the time  -  is there any way round this?

Hi Dan,

the way around this would be to install CC 2017 as well side by side to CC 2015.
But be cautious! You have to untick the option in the CC Desktop app that says that all older CC versions will be un-installed.

Then you have the chance to open the document with CC 2017, save as IDML and open that with CC 2015.

Hi,

Please package the entire document upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send the document link to santalwa@adode.com.To package the document, Go to File -> Package

The IDML file conversion service is now available. One of our servers went offline resulting in the issue so some users were facing error while opening newer version indd documents in older versions.
