.an files not opening in Animate CC - displaying as exec

Hi, I need to edit an Edge Animate (.an) file using Animate CC, however the .an file the designer has sent me is displaying as 'exec' and Animate CC can't open it.

I'm guessing this means it's encrypted for a Windows machine? If so, what does the designer need to do to send me a file that I can use with Animate CC on my Mac?

You would need Edge Animate to edit an .an file. Adobe Animate opens .fla files.

If you don't already have Edge Animate you can find it in the CC menu Apps tab, under Previous Versions.
