    Paragraph Spacing

    lpaquinhand Level 1
      I inserted a div tag and typed in a few paragraphs of text. I am separating the paragraphs but dreamweaver inserts this large paragraph spacing. Is there a way to decrease the space between lines or paragraphs? Either on page properties or my CSS?

          Let's see your code, please. There is a way to control all of this with
          CSS, but the method selected would depend on how you have built this
          element.

            go to css style and set line spacing attribute for paragraph tag

              Wrong. That will set the intra-paragraph space between lines, but not the
              space between adjacent paragraphs.

                  It would really be best if you could upload this page somewhere, post a link
                  to it, and tell us which paragraphs you want to change, and how you want to
                  change them. Can you?

                    This is the paragraph that I want to decrease the spacing between paragraphs. I want to make less space between paragraph 1 and 2. Let me know if that helps. I'm not supposed to post anything external:

                    <div>
                    <p><strong><strong><a href="employeestory.pdf">Climb led to hankering for hiking</a></strong><br />
                    Appalachian Trail latest test</strong> (Phillip is the son of Deb Carcia, teller in Auburn branch).</p>

                    <p><strong>Exercise at Work!</strong> It's 10:00 a.m. and lunchtime seems a long time away. How can you focus on your next appointment? <a href=" http://www.campbellwellness.com/article.aspx?id=37">Read more.</a></p>
                    </div>
                    • 7. Re: Paragraph Spacing
                      Level 7
                      You would use CSS to adjust the top/bottom margins of those paragraphs, but
                      the exact selector would depend on the rest of the code on your page, and
                      whether you wanted to affect ALL paragraphs on the page in the same way, or
                      only these two.

                      If only these two, then do the following -

                      change this -

                      <div>
                      <p> <a href="employeestory.pdf">Climb led to hankering for
                      hiking</a><br />
                      Appalachian Trail latest test
                      (Phillip is the son of Deb Carcia,
                      teller in Auburn branch).</p>

                      <p> Exercise at Work! It's 10:00 a.m. and lunchtime seems a long
                      time away. How can you focus on your next appointment? <a
                      href=" http://www.campbellwellness.com/article.aspx?id=37">Read more.</a></p>
                      </div>

                      to this -

                      <div id="special">
                      <p> <a href="employeestory.pdf">Climb led to hankering for
                      hiking</a><br />
                      Appalachian Trail latest test
                      (Phillip is the son of Deb Carcia,
                      teller in Auburn branch).</p>

                      <p> Exercise at Work! It's 10:00 a.m. and lunchtime seems a long
                      time away. How can you focus on your next appointment? <a

                      </div>

                      and add this to your CSS -

                      #special p { margin:0;padding:0; }

                      (assuming you do not already have an element with id="special" on your page)
