New master uneditable

New master created from an existing master is not editable; objects from the old master are not positioned correctly, and I am unable to select them in order to make needed edits. Would  one of you please show me what is going wrong here.

Using inDesign 2017.0 in IOS el Capitan 10.11.6.

You need to go to the master the new one is based on and make the change there. Or just override them.
