Adding photos to LR from a "virtual drive"

Hi

I am testing LR and the first thing I am trying is to add my photographs which I have stored on a "virtual drive" (a service called PCloud).  I go to the point "Add photos and video", and get the pop-up where I can select the virtual drive (P:) where my photographs are, but I cannot select "ADD", only "Copy", which basically means I have to copy all my photos to my harddrive in order to be able to catalog them.  And that is not a possibility for me since my local drive is way to small to store all my photos.

Is there really no way around this?  I just want to be able to ADD the photos to the catalog from their current location.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you'll be able to ADD the photos from this virtual drive.

Lightroom wants to have the photos on a real hard drive, either internal, external or network.

Maybe it's time to consider using an external hard drive for your images.

Thanks for your reply.  I forgot to say that this drive looks like a network drive in my computer and is always connected. Don't know if that changes anything.

Doesn't seem to change anything, Lightroom doesn't like the drive.

I just signed up with pcloud and am having the same issue. Lightroom does recognize this drive, because it shows up in the navigation panel on the left. Also, pcloud has a Lightroom plugin now that is available in the  Adobe store for download, so should be compatible. Really hoping to get this to work because I'm running out of room on my hard drive fast.
