Lr6 and iMac 27 (Sierra) - problems importing pictures.

My iMac 27 with Sierra can import pictures with LR 5.7, but when I am trying to do the same with LR 6.7 lots of trouble occurs - sometimes trouble with connecting the card reader, and if connected, trouble with previews and then trouble importing. Why?

When connecting a card (SanDisk extreme 16 gb sdhc) LR6.7 I can see most of the pictures in preview, but not all. When I choose import, nothing seems to happen.
