Thanks in advance everyone. Ok so I have 3 separate projects that I want to bring together in to one so it pays as one video. I have tried using dependencies and collect files options and then both importing and copy/pasting one project in to another. All that happens is either I lose all of my assets in the project I'm importing and get the message "Original Source Deleted" or things come across but the scale is all messed up and key frames are gone.

I am still very much learning AE and would appreciate any advice as to what I am doing wrong here and how I can bring these different projects together.

Thank you once again.

Just import the project files.  Each one comes in contained in its own folder.

If something ELSE is happening, you'll need to describe it in greater detail.  Screenshots of the ENTIRE user interface are good.

Hi Sarahm,

As mentioned by Dave, you can simply import your After Effects project files in a new project.

You can see all the assets in the Project Panel.

Thanks,

Kulpreet Singh

This action imported the other project files, but the timeline (and all the work) was lost. Any other ideas?

What do you mean "the timeline was lost"? When you import another project, open the composition that gets imported and you should see everything.
