Problem with narration (Voice) channel

I can record narration on the Voice channel, but it will not play back unless I move it to another audio channel. The voice channel worked fine for awhile, then just stopped working. I've read that others have had similar issues, and I have tried every solution suggested. I can create a new project, and the voice channel works fine. I have Premier 14.1, running on Mac OS Sierra.

Is there anything else I can try? I have a long video, and do not want to re-create it.

Based on what you've told me, I have no idea why this is happening.

Hopefully someone else will chime in with a solution.

Otherwise, you may want to contact Adobe Customer Care via chat and see if they have any ideas.

If you switch the timeline to Audio View, is the Narration track muted?

When you open the Audio Mixer (under the Tools menu) and play the audio on your Narration track, does the audio register on the Audio Mixer's meters?

Many thanks for such a quick reply, Steve. The narration track is not muted. The audio on the voice channel does not register in the mixer. When I move the voice.wav file to another audio track, everything is perfect. I have tried everything I know to get it working on the narration (voice) channel. It appears others have had the same problem after creating many voice.wav files. I'm not  novice (but not yet an expert) with Premier Elements and generally very much like the program. I also think there are some sound additional issues that need to be addressed, such as the "mute audio while recording" not working and getting a USB mike to work on my Mac Pro. Now, I have to go to Mac System preferences and mute the output until I have finished by narration to avoid unpleasant audio feedback. The manual should also contain a section that better explains proper sound hardware configuration for best performance. I had to learn through trial and error to get maximum control over narration volume and to be able to adjust treble and base.
