Hi,

I got the following problem when opening (adding to library) an *.acsm file with adobe digital editions (Version 4.5.3.162045) :

1. A window opens, telling me that the content will be downloaded (takes about 3-5 seconds),

2. A second window appears saying that download is impossible. Licence error, server communication failure. (E_ADEPT_DOCUMENT_TOO_SHORT)

3. After pressing the "OK" button, the ADE program crashes with the following Details (sorry it was done in German):

When I used the ADE this summer (June 2016), everything was fine. So now all my old scripts/books are not readable anymore 😕

The same prolem occurs on both Windows PCs (Windwos 7, Windows 8.1).

Would be very nice to get help, thanks. (I already reinstalled with cleaning the adept registry information, still the problem exists.)

PS.: case number: 0220828034 (from adobe support-chat)
