Lightroom 6 Upgrade

Hi

I have recently downloaded Lightroom 6 upgrade but I am left with the original Lightroom 5.7.1 still on my system. Is it safe to uninstall this version or is it needed by Lightroom 6.

You can safely uninstall Lr 5.x

I have spent 2 hours trying to find the Lightroom 6 standalone upgrade. I purchased Lightroom 5 and upgrade to 6 on my old PC and installed Lightroom 5 from my CD onto my new Windows 10 PC, but now I can't find ANYTHING other than the CC version. Can someone please point me in the direction of LR6 upgrade standalone???? Many thanks....
