So to load those materials :

In the 3D Properties panel for materials click on the down arrow next to the icon then on the cogwheel.

From the resulting menu choose "Load materials"

Navigate to where you have downloaded your material P3M files - select and click Load

The new materials will appear at the bottom of the same menu

When you click on one you will be asked whether you want to replace the existing materials or Append to add them to the available materials.

There is a lot of 3D content online - some of which is free some of which is sold.

Do a google search for "free 3d object files" and it turns up many hits

That was my first thought....but i find only 3D objects as a finished photo.

I have a motive which I would like to represent in 3D and I need a suitable form.

I am looking for these templates:

Hi Jenny

Are you trying to create a 3D extrusion from that image or put that image onto another object?

I made a very quick (and imperfect) selection from your screenshot and then went to 3D - New 3D extrusion from Current Selection.

If that is not what you are trying to do please come back

I would like to create a special label and had the idea to create the logo in 3d. Only the shapes like hat, cone, ball, soda etc. do not inspire me. I have to experiment and practice above all....
Many thanks again for your help.

Many greetings

Did you know you can draw a shape with the pen tool then create a 3D extrusion from that (Create 3D extrusion from workpath)?

You can also create multiple 3D objects (on separate 3D layers) then combine them by using 3D - Merge 3D layers
