Why does my lightroom automatically ruin the image when I click develop?

Hi!
So ive been using lightroom for a fair amount of time. But recently, I am able to see my images clearly in my library. but as soon as i press develop the whole image gets distorted. I cant do anything and i dont know what im doing wrong. Can you please tell me what to do?

You need to disable the GPU.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, and uncheck Use graphics processor.
