Unable to import NEF files to Catalogue

I am using Lightroom version 6.8 which is the latest version on Windows10 OS.

I imported NEF photograph files from my Nikon D600 camera to my harddisk using Nikon File Transfer application.

When I try to import these files to 'Add' to my LR catalogue I get the following message (see screenshot below). Please help me solve this issue.

Move the photos to your Harddisk with Lightroom (or Explorer) instead of Nikon Transfer.

Nikon Transfer is known to sometimes corrupt the files.

Did Nikon Transfer ship with your camera or was it already installed from an earlier Nikon model?

Can you try adding files to your computer without using other software e.g. connect the camera, or use a card reader instead of Nikon Transfer.

Let us know if that makes a difference.
