Does anyone know how to best set up lightroom for school portraits?

This is a relatively vague question, exactly what parts of Lightroom do you want to set up?

Are you talking about develop presets, or how to organize these photos, or something else?

Organisation really, I just find it hard to understand how a photographer can keep track of 500 pupils, I understand folders etc.. but just wandered if there were any good tricks for organisation

Student's name goes in the caption field.

Camera tethering will also immediately give you the image in Lightroom to add the name to Caption data.
