Hello all. I've just started self learning photoshop today using an instructional ebook but would like to be directed to the correct forum for asking questions as I go.

This is the place - welcome to Photoshop and to the forum .

Your best bet to a good answer though is to start a new topic for each question, with a relevant title (which will attract people to it) and a clear explanation of what you are trying (a screenshot is worth a thousand words.
