The alignment of a text frame is going from left to right BUT the ruler tab goes from right to left.

How can the ruler tabs be set from left to right?

The problem here is not about setting the tab from right to left, but is a garbled Tab panel ruler.

Look at the Tab panel in the screen shot. The numbers on its ruler are moving DOWN as you look from left to right. On mine they move UP.

I don't understand why this has happened, but I suggest, restarting InDesign. Trashing the preferences. Restarting the computer.

Could you provide a screen grab of the problem so we can understand easily?

Selecting a tab should enable one to choose a different alignment, but to clarify could you please post a screenshot?

Which version of InDesign are you using? Can you share the file so I can see if the problem is the same on my computer?

Hi

Do you use ME (Middle East) version?

Do you use third-party plugins such as  scribeDOOR or WorldTools Pro?

If both answers are negative, maybe you can try restoring your preferences

see : Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences

This is what I had understood to be the problem also. I couldn't however recreate the issue or find a setting that would put this right without resetting InDesign preferences

Yeah, sorry, I noticed that too late so I trashed my previous post.
