Just got a new Canon 5D Mark IV. Went to upload images that I photographed and Lightroom is unable to read them. "The files are not recognized by the RAW format in Lightroom." I don't understand - my software is updated. These are wedding photos for a client and incredibly important.

Either:

  1. Join the Cloud and sign up for the Photography Plan for $9.99/ month, or
  2. Pay to upgrade to Lightroom 6 (non-Cloud)

Download and install Lightroom 6 (Single App license)

Free alternative: download the free Adobe DNG converter, batch convert folders of 5D Mark IV Raw files to DNG format, then edit the DNG files in Lightroom 5.7. An extra step for you but no extra cost.

It says Lightroom 5.7. How do I update to the most recent version? Thanks for your help.

I am having this same problem.  Panasonic G7.  Shooting Jpg+Raw.  When I upload, it only takes some of the JPG files and won't preview or upload the RW2. files.  I have LR CC, and I have checked to make sure I have the latest update.  All is good.  Still can't read the RW2 files Please help!  So frustrating!

LATEST

Some people think they have the latest version when in reality they don't. What is the exact version of Lightroom installed on your computer? You need at least Lightroom 6.1.
