Box Enters Sleep Mode During Import

Started an import process, walked away, came back in a few minutes finding the box has entered sleep mode (Connected Standby). Had to wake up the machine to continue the process.

Any idea how to prevent this from happening again?

Please change your system Sleep settings. You may refer Lightroom 5.6 stops activity when computer sleeps -5.5 did not. Why? | Photoshop Family Customer Com... and Why does LR 5.6 stop exporting when my computer sleeps??

Have you looked under your system settings, power and sleep options? I have mine set to "Never". One version of Windows are you using?

My point is, could LR, perhaps as an option, prevent the system from entering sleep/standby when a process is in progress?

The Lightroom preferences don't offer such an option. You have to control it with operating system settings.
