I've tried the following.

/PATHTO/Adobe\ InDesign\ CC\ 2017 -noui -run /PATHTO/artwork_to_framefile.jsx

/PATHTO/ExtendScript\ Toolkit -noui -run /PATHTO/artwork_to_framefile.jsx

I want to use indesign like imagemagick or other command line utilities without having the application load up.

Is this possible? Thanks for any help.

It depends the context but if upupd80104568 is the licence owner and the automation sequence initializer for this same licence, then what can be done is having a VB or applescript that can run the client. But it's a very strict scenario.
