I have mms.cfg on all machines in the company with the following triggers:

AutoUpdateDisable=0

SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1

However, about 10% of our Windows 7 machines are not updating. Most are updating very quickly after a release.

The versions that are not updated span a few old versions too.

  • 20.0.0.267
  • 21.0.0.242
  • 23.0.0.162
  • 23.0.0.207 (majority are this version)

I can remote in to the machines and see the mms.cfg file in the proper folder (%WINDOWS%\System32\Macromed\Flash)

Here is the error logs from one of the machines:

2017-1-19+2-12-0.633 [error] 1222 1060

A lot of the machines, however, just look normal in the log and have the latest entries like this:

Hi,

Unfortunately, the log file excerpt doesn't provide sufficient information to troubleshoot. I'd like for you to enable Background Updates verbose logging, let it run for a day or two and then provide the entire FlashInstall.log file.  To enable verbose logging, add SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1 to the mms.cfg file.  The file will be fairly long, please upload the file to cloud.acrobat.com/send using the instructions at How to share a document and provide the link to the uploaded files, either in this post or via private message.  If via private message, include a link to this discussion topic for reference.

Thank you.
