Thank you Steve. That seems indeed to be the problem !

I’m pleased to know that at least, it isn’t a fault of my computer….

Stay well,

You replied to an eight year old thread so I'm branching it to a new one.

What version of InDesign? What operating system? What format are the images?

Hi Bob,

I’m using InDesign CC 2017 on an iMac 27inch with macOS Soierra 10.12.2. The images are about 16 to 17 MB.

When I move the picture slighty (arrow up and down for instance) it returns to the normal image. But zooming in or out doesn’t help. A pdf of the file does make any problem, the pictures are correct..

Must be a bug or something….

Would be great If you come up with a solution…

Thanks,

Barth

Do you have a Mac with a Retina display? Are you using the GPU preview? Try View > Preview on CPU to see if it makes a difference.

Hi Steve, Yes it is a Retina display. And you are right, clicking on Preview on CPU seems to solve the problem, although it comes back by re-opening the file….

Thanks

So it's a GPU bug, and the reason it comes back on opening is that you probably have GPU turned on by default.

Go to Preferences > GPU Performance and uncheck GPU Performance.

You can report it as a bug here:

Did you try to open this image in Photoshop and save as new PSD file and place that one?

Hi Willi, thanks for your answer. Yes I tried, but that doesn’t change anything….
