Is there a way to revise Alpha Channels, using version PS 5? If yes, how?

Any help is much appreciated.

Do you mean edit alpha channels?

Are you using photoshop elements 5, photoshop cs5 or photoshop 5?

If you are using Photoshop proper you can select the Channel in the Channels Panel (Window > Channels) and work on it.

To answer R_Kelly's question, yes, I meant EDIT alpha channels and I am using CS5.

When I click on any customized channel, and try to edit it, a channel, titled "Quick Mask," gets added to the list. Any edits get automatically associated to the Quick Mask, not to the intended customized channel.

That does not sound plausible.

Could you please post screenshots illustrating the process?

Hit Q to exit Quick Mask.

In any case you can select any other Channel in the Channels Panel even if Quick Mask was triggered.
