sunburst effect on assignment help please

hi, i have spent hours searching in the forums and youtube to do this simple yet oh so not simple for me photoshop effect, i am doing a web developer course and doing simple photoshop assignment(clearly i am not finding this simple) the instructions read...with the blue area selected(which is a simple eclipse shape) we will put a lighting effect across that part of the image. click effects>illumination effects>sunburst. drag the centre of the sunburst to the top left of the image.

i am so stuck if anyone could help me out please;)

Sounds like Corel Paintshop - not Photoshop

To produce lens flare  In Photoshop try Filter - Render - Lens Flare

omg davescm you have no idea how much pressure and stress you just lifted!! thanks so much!! it took me three seconds on your instructions to do something that i have been struggling with for hours!! i am right in saying you can't run corel on mac?

I don't use a Mac but according to their website it looks like you are right.
