I want to disable the automatic link updating of the indesign. Is there any way?

I edit too many links. Indesign updates these links every time. This is a waste of time for me. Can I disable the update feature?of the indesign. Is there any way?

not a scripting answer, but why not just goto preferences - File Handling - Links  and change the settings to suit

Why not?

Scripting cannot influence InDesign's built-in behavior. It seems to me you need to ask this in the regular forum.
