Importing XML in CC 2017

Hi,

I have a new Mac And have installed CC 2017. I have been working with large dictionary XML files in CC 2015 and they are working fine on my old Mac. When I now try to load XML into the same file in 2017, it is unbearably slow loading. In fact, I've three times had to restart InDesign because it's freezing when loading in the XML.

I've just opened the file in 2015 again and loaded it the file and it's fine (takes about 3 mins but certainly no other problem). I was hoping that 2017 would be speedier.  Does anyone have any experience loading XML into 2017 or have any ideas as to what might be happening?
