I need to add a 3D object to a AE sequence. Is it best to build the animation in AE (camera, lights, images, etc), then importing it into C4D to add the 3D object and finally reimporting the C4D file into AE to finalize it? Or is it best to build the animation inside C4D and then importing it inside AE?

Thanks

Best depends on your project. I've done it both ways many times. It all depends on the project and the effect you are trying to achieve. Without details it's hard to say. You'll only figure this out for yourself after you gain some experience. We can only point you in the direction that we think may be best for your project if we know the details, maybe see a story board or an example of something similar.
