Does Character Animator work with photographs?

Hi all, thanks for reading my question.

1) Does Character Animator work with photographs?

2) If yes, could you perhaps link to any samples or portfolios that use Character Animator to manipulate photographs?

I'm only interested in working with photographs, not illustrations and cartoons.  So I thought I should ask this question before learning Character Animator.

I found this tutorial....

...which shows it's possible to use a photo, but kind of a lot of work.   Good tutorial though, worth a look if working with photos interests you.
