I like the ability to display InDesign content in presentation mode, but there's a flaw. After proceeding past the first page, presentation mode displays in a spread, making content difficult to review.
Is there a way to display one page at a time? If not, this mode is pretty much useless.

Make a copy of your InDesign document and then change it to single pages (File > Document Setup, untick Facing Pages).

Amazing. I was so used to having facing pages all these years, that I never really paid attention to the option.
All set. There was one exception. I didn't need to copy the document. I just unchecked the "Facing Pages" box.
Thanks!!!

Or you could use a script to separate your pages without loosing the facing page facility:
Separate Pages Script | in-tools.com
Besides, I wouldn't say Preview mode is useless
