Develop module navigation panel freezes.

In develop module, occasionally the display is different from the navigation panel. Once this happens no matter what picture I select the navigational panel picture is frozen. If I switch to the library module, everything is fine. If I switch back to the develop module, the problem still exists.The only way I can fix this is to close lightroom and then restart it. I am using windows 7 and lightroom 6.8. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Have you tried turning off GPU acceleration in your Lightroom preferences?

GPU acceleration is off.
