I copied my photos to the file system. Then I imported the folder int Lightroom. The folder contains both .JPG and .RW2 files of the same shot (194 in each format). I want to see only the JPG files, but when I select JPEG to filter metadata, only 3 files are shown. How do I see the rest of the JPG files?

There is a preference that controls what Lightroom does with jpegs next to raw files. In preferences->General, check "treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos". This will only make the change for photos you'll import next so you might have to reimport the jpeg files.
