Facebook plug-in

Using Lightroom 2015.8 on Windows 10 64-bit.

Since upgrading to v8, the Facebook plug-in isn't working.  It keeps telling me "Facebook authentication check failed'".  AND/OR  "the plugin is installed but there may be problems"  How do I fix this?

Subsidiary question:  can I uninstall/reinstall the plugin?  OR should I uninstall/reinstall Lightroom??

Have done extensive research on the web and it seems this plugin is notoriously unreliable.  If so, what's the workaround??
