Possible bug: can't select color from tools bar for Color Overlay

Hi there,

I've just upgraded to CC and found that I can no longer select a color from tools bar when I'm picking the color for the Color Overlay.

This was possible on the previous versions of PS, so I'm assuming it must be a bug?

Thanks

EDIT:  I've just found the same problem on the Gradient Overlay.  Is this something other people are experiencing or is it just me?

There is an issue and you can do one of two workarounds.

1. Enable the single column toolbar - the issue only affects the double column toolbar.

or ..

2. Click away from the toolbar - drag over the fore/background patches and release. The colour where you released will be picked up.

I can select a color from the current canvas if that's what you mean. I can also select from the swatches panel.  I can't however select from the Foreground or Background colors on the tools bar or the library - it just gives me the 'error' noise

I can’t reproduce the issue.

If you click on the Canvas and drag over to the Toolbox before releasing does that work?

I'm not sure what you mean by that.  I've just noticed that I get the same problem when editing the color on a shape.

Dave, that's brilliant thank you, I was going crazy for a few minutes there!

So I'm assuming this is already a logged bug?

It is indeed - Adobe staff joined a thread a while ago confirming they had it logged.

Hi c.pfaffenbichler

It is still here on Windows 10 with CC2017.0.1 - I just tried it.

Make a selection

Shift+F5

Choose Color - to open Color Picker

Try and click on foreground square in options bar.

With double column toolbar nothing happens* - with single column it works.

*Unless you click elsewhere and drag over the square

Not sure this is the same issue, but suspect it is. Color selector won't change. Have single tool bar. Clicking anywhere else doesn't seem to matter. Newbie at PS.
