Indesign 2017 won't open 2015 Indesign Files

We have one computer that has updated to Indesign 2017 and it won't open 2015 Indesign files.  The other computers in the office that have 2015 can open the files fine.

Do you have any plugins installed on your copies of CC2015?

What does “won’t open” mean? Are you receiving error messages? Crashes?

I have the same question. I just purchased a new computer and bought Creative Cloud, however I didn't know that you couldn't open files from 2105?

Hi,

Please package the entire document upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send the document link to santalwa@adode.com.

To package the document, Go to File -> Package

I have the same type of issue with some of my users in the office.... One user has Adobe CC 2017 (with Indesign) and another user has InDesign 2015 and does not have the Creative Cloud app.  When the user with the 2017 version tries to open 2015 files, links are broken and there are gray boxes with an "X" in them where certain pictures should be.  Also, the file opens as "Untitled" instead of what the file was actually named and saved as.

They need to be able to collaborate using 2 different versions of InDesign.  Please help!

User from InDesign CC 2015 should package the document including fonts,links etc and share the entire package with InDesign CC 2017 user.

Does this require the InDesign 2015 user to have Creative Cloud?  Because she does not have Creative Cloud, just InDesign 2015.

InDesign [CC] 2015 by definition requires a Creative Cloud subscription.

There is no non-CC "InDesign 2015"

The last version before a CC subscription is InDesign CS6.

Choose About InDesign from the InDesign menu (Mac) or Help menu (Windows).
