I have Adobe 9.0 and want to encrypt a simple PDF - Adobe says got to Tools to to find that option and password...that just ain't to...help?

Hello World..........how does one encrypt a simple PDF in v.9.0 - Adobe knowledge says use Tools > Encrypt and that option is not present

You are using instructions for a newer version of Acrobat. There was a big change in the user interface between Acrobat 9 and Acrobat X and again between XI and DC. When you look for instructions, you have to make sure that you are working with the same version of the software that the instructions were written for.

In Acrobat 9 Pro, look in the "Advanced>Security" menu for this functionality.
