Photoshop CC 2017 won't open any image

Microsoft Windows 10 Home
i7-4770 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processors
8GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 745

Problem 1:

  • Photoshop will not open image files.

Problem 2:

  • When a layer is hidden or shown that was not before, only scrolling up or down makes the change visible. Any zoom % large or small.

Both problems occurred when I updated Photoshop CC 2015 to Photoshop CC 2017 2 days ago. I don't know how to revert to past versions.

Problem 1 failed solutions:

  • Updated Nvidia graphic card drivers.

You can get previous versions from your CC Desktop Application.

You don't need to revert your CC desktop app.  You want the latest version of CC Desktop App so you can see all available apps.

Sure you can.  If you're a paying Creative Cloud plan member, you have access to all the old versions.   Trial members do not.   Did you look at my screenshot above and follow the sequence as laid out 1 - 4?

Alright thanks.

I would still like help on the 2017 version instead of reverting back if I can.

I tried that as you suggested, didn't work.
I reinstalled Photoshop CC 2017 3 times removing the preferences each time,
I manually deleted preference files on the first installation as well, I'm sorry I forgot to list those..

Ok. On uninstalling, have you tried the Cleaner Tool? My apologies if you did and I missed it.

I tried that as you suggested, didn't work.

I uninstalled all the Adobe software needed to uninstall CC Desktop & ran the cleaner tool,

"Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool.log" couldn't be found at C:\Users\[user name] in step 10 at the link you provided,

reinstalled CC Desktop then Photoshop & couldn't open images still.

Ok, this one is serious and beyond forum support.

You can contact Customer Care by chat. They  have the tools to remotely look at the problem and likely would be able to find out what's going on.

Good luck and I  would be curious as to what they found.
