Just recently, when I delete a photo from disk in Lightroom 6, the deleted photo is not showing up in the trash bin on my iMac. What could be going on?

Just recently, when I delete a photo from disk in Lightroom 6, the deleted photo is not showing up in the trash bin on my iMac. What could be going on?  It was working fine a couple of days ago.  The photos are deleted, at least they are not in the parent folder when I take a look, but they are not showing up in the trash bin.

Problem resolved with a computer restart.  i should have tried that in the first place.
