How can others view my project?

I have created a project that seemed very easy to do. My problem is that I do not know how to export my file so that everyone can see my project without having to purchase Captivate. Is there a way to convert my project to a file evryone can view?

Hello Frillman and welcome to the community

I assume you have Captivate, in which case, select the "Publish" button and you will be faced with a dialogue box where you can choose the published file name, format (SWF, EXE, DOC etc.), full screen or not and so on.

Play around to find the format that suits you best.

Welcome to our community, James

What you need to do is to Publish your project to create the output files. You may choose between .SWF or .EXE as your output that all may view. You then make the .SWF or .EXE available to the users.

Rick, first of all thank you!

Secondly, when I publish, it creates 4 documents. The first being the link itself (htm doc)and the other 3 are a .SWF, skin.SWF, and standards.js file. If i click on the HTM file it lauches my presentation. But if I send only the HTM file to someone, they cannot view the presentation. Do I need to send all 4 documents?

Hi again

Indeed you must. The output is a bit like a house of cards. Take away any one of those four components and it collapses.

Cheers... Rick

Hey James

One thing I didn't mention is that you might be better off by copying those files to a server. Then simply send the link to the HTML page. Your user clicks the link and views your Captivate.

If you can do this it will likely save you and the recipient some grief.

Cheers... Rick
