Suddenly stopped previewing composition?

I was working on a composition and it was going great. Then - when I created a second comp i went back to view the first one and I see everything in the time line but when I preview it - i see nothing but the blue background. The ti is moving across but nothing previews. Any ideas why this is happening? Many thanks!

Wow, I haven't seen that shade of gray on a workspace for AGES!  What version are you running, and what's your OS?

I suspect OS incompatibility with your AE version.

Hello Dave & thank you for answering! It's CS6 - and as for the gray I set itt hat way in prefs - but actually meant to set it to total white and will go do that now.& it's OS 10.7.5. Does that fgive any clues?
