Add the page number as a text variable in the usual way on the Master page and ensure it's on top of the graphic (in the Layers panel). The image can be on the Master page if it's repeating or on the document page if it changes from page to page.

Dear Derek,

Would you please give me step by step with screen shot, as I cannot make blending layer with 2 two layers (Layer 1 for Text Number, Layer 2 for Artwork) and not success as per screen shot below:

In the Layers panel drag Layer 1 above Layer 2.

There also appears to be an overflow in one of your frames - try resizing it.

Also check to see if you have a Text wrap on.

Select the page number marker on the Master page and then: Object > Text Frame Options, tick Ignore Text Wrap.
