After Effects loses preferences of audio-channels

Hello,

I use After Effects on macOS Sierra. My Audio-hardware is a MOTU 24 Ao (a soundcard offering 24 analogue outputs).

AE shows the MOTU 24Ao in the preferences and also all 24 channels. Due to our studio I use channels 12 and 13 for stereo-output.

Whenever I close and re-open AE again, it looses my preferences and switches back to channels 1 and 2, so I have to adjust it again.

This did not occur on macOS El Capitan or on an earlier version of AE. I re-installed the whole system 3 weeks ago.

I know this is a rare constellation of software / hardware / preferences, but maybe someone has an idea / solution nevertheless?

I found nothing in the forums.

Thanks!

Steffen (Berlin)

There was a bug with preferences that was fixed in this week's update to AE (version 14.1.0). Try it and let us know how it works for you.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

  • No, it doesn't work with AE 14.1.0.57
  • I also tried it using another user-account (administrator), no improvement.

Best, Steffen.

Well, darn.

I'd suggest filing a bug report to let them know about your setup and issues.

YOU GUYS ROCK!  Thank you for fixing the Audio 1 / 2 Channel Error and scratchy audio at 44.1kHz in the latest update!  I was pulling my hair out!

Woah, I spoke too soon.  I updated everything and it worked, then I opened Premiere while AE was open and when I switched back to AE, the audio glitch came back.  This time, Right channel only, unable to select the other channel and the scratchiness of the audio was back...
